Pangea Approach: World Generation Accelerates

Big week in the world generation front!

I launched a new branch — world-generation-pangea-approach — and it’s moving fast. The core idea here is to work from macro-level continent shaping down into high-resolution individual biome generation. Think Pangea: start big, carve into detail.

What got done this week:

  • March 23: Prepped the pipeline for transitioning from macro world generation to high-res individual biome generation
  • March 24: Phases 1–3 of macro generation complete. Also integrated DOTs and ECS packages for performance at scale
  • March 24: Phases 3 & 4 complete on the Pangea approach branch — the macro layer is now solid

The Pangea branch is moving fast enough that it may be ready to merge into the main world_generation branch soon. Next frontier: high-res biome generation, which is where things get really interesting.

Also updated the dev docs repository (Manabat_Docs) with the world generation update video and configured LFS attributes for large asset tracking.

Still on track for the June 2026 combat prototype target. Weapons and elemental systems are holding stable while world gen picks up steam. More to come.
